I wonder if this would help my students who still don't quite get how to solve equations, or if it would be even more confusing. I'll have to try this in an upcoming reteaching lesson.

How do you go about teaching students to create their problems?Dan Wekselgreenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08696028020767073620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30226356.post-50790167448258099722009-10-29T16:06:31.399-07:002009-10-29T16:06:31.399-07:00I've had students create their own puzzles lik...I've had students create their own puzzles like this as an alternative assessment. It takes a bit to check but requiring the work on another sheet of paper helps speed it along.

Yes, they turn in hand written work.

Make sure to keep a copy that is intact so it is easy to check whether or not students have the puzzle solved correctly.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17634586752594062008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30226356.post-88568692219416146012009-10-28T20:43:41.340-07:002009-10-28T20:43:41.340-07:00Don't mind at all. In the past, I've made a similar puzzle just using Word (but it was a lot easier to manage in Pages, in page layout mode). I can upload the Pages file if you're interested - I just figured most people don't have access to it.Dan Wekselgreenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08696028020767073620noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30226356.post-78817411502374617882009-10-28T05:50:04.395-07:002009-10-28T05:50:04.395-07:00Did you use and special software to create the sol...Did you use and special software to create the solving equations puzzle?Terry Kaminskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15845242537160632505noreply@blogger.com
